09 · Run Tencent Meeting by sentence
At a glance
| Solves | Frequent meetings, and constant switching between editor, meeting app and notes |
| Needs | A Tencent Meeting account; the Tencent Meeting Skill (needs a personal token) |
| Takes | 5 minutes to install; one sentence per operation afterwards |
| Risk | Medium — it creates, changes and cancels real meetings |
The situation
You are writing a document when a colleague messages: can we sync on the plan this afternoon?
The normal flow: switch to Tencent Meeting → book → fill in a subject → pick a time → set permissions → copy the meeting ID → switch back to the chat → send it → switch back to the document, having forgotten where you were.
Installation
1) Get a personal token
Open the official Tencent Meeting Skill page and sign in with your Tencent Meeting account. The authorisation page gives you a personal token to copy.
The token is a personal credential
Keep it safe and do not share it. If it expires, revisit the authorisation page for a new one.
2) Install in WorkBuddy
The authorisation page shows a "WorkBuddy native integration flow". Copy the command from step 1, paste it into a WorkBuddy conversation, and let it install.
WorkBuddy creates a task and handles the download, parsing and configuration. When it finishes, the Skill appears in your installed list.
What it can do
Once installed, the whole meeting lifecycle is available in plain language:
| Category | Capability |
|---|---|
| Meeting management | Create one-off and recurring meetings; change subject, time, password; cancel; query details |
| Attendees | View participants, invitees and the waiting room |
| Post-meeting | Retrieve recordings, transcripts and AI-generated minutes |
Example instructions
Creating
Create a Tencent Meeting called "technical approach review",
3pm to 4pm today.Set up a recurring meeting, Mondays at 10am, called "team weekly".Times can be stated naturally
"3pm to 4pm today", "half nine tomorrow morning" — it understands these, and you do not need to convert to a standard format.
Changing and cancelling
Move meeting 450-743-140 to 4pm.Cancel meeting 450-743-140.Confirm the meeting ID before changing or cancelling
For reschedules and cancellations, give the meeting ID or name explicitly. Safer still, check first:
What meetings do I have today? List the ID, subject and time.Get it right before acting. Cancelling the wrong meeting means an apology message.
Querying
What meetings do I have today?Who attended meeting 450-743-140? Who was invited?Who is in the waiting room? After the meeting
Show me the recent meeting recordings.Get the download link for the last meeting's recording.Show me the transcript from the last meeting, and search it for "technical approach".Get the AI minutes for this meeting.Combining: where the time actually goes
Booking a meeting in one sentence saves a little. The real value is connecting meetings to the work in front of you.
Minutes and actions automatically
Get the AI minutes and transcript for meeting 450-743-140.
Then turn them into circulable minutes:
1. Agenda item → discussion points → conclusion
2. An action-item table: item / owner / due date
3. Unresolved items
Where the transcript does not state an owner or a date, write "not specified"
— do not infer.
Save to D:/minutes/YYYY-MM-DD-subject.md.That is the meeting minutes playbook combined with the meeting Skill — you do not even download the recording.
Preparing beforehand
Check my meetings tomorrow morning.
For each, read the latest related documents under D:/projects and produce a
preparation note: subject / time / what I need to prepare / status of action
items from the last meeting on the same topic.
Save as tomorrow-prep.md.Automate the weekly cycle
Create an automation for Mondays at 09:00:
1. Query all my Tencent Meetings this week
2. Read last week's AI minutes and extract incomplete action items
3. Produce a "this week's meetings plus outstanding actions" list
4. Push it to my WeComSee Automations on a schedule.
Acceptance checklist
- [ ] The created meeting appears in the Tencent Meeting client with identical details
- [ ] The time zone and time are correct (watch this on cross-timezone work)
- [ ] Recurring rules are right (daily / weekdays / weekly / fortnightly / monthly)
- [ ] You verified the meeting ID before changing or cancelling
- [ ] Spot-check two conclusions in the retrieved minutes against the transcript
Recommended practice
State subject, time range and recurrence in one go. Supplying that across three rounds is much slower.
Say the password up front. If you need a custom one, mention it at creation; the common rule is 4–6 digits.
Be explicit about recurrence. Daily, weekdays, weekly, fortnightly and monthly are quite different — do not leave it to inference.
Check before important changes. Look at the current meeting details before rescheduling or cancelling.
FAQ
Installation or a call fails.
Check whether the token has expired first — much the most common cause. Revisit the authorisation page for a new one.
Where does the token live, and is it safe?
The Skill manages it. Treat it like any third-party credential: do not configure it on a shared machine, and revoke it on the Tencent Meeting side when you stop using it.
Can I manage meetings organised by other people?
Permissions follow your Tencent Meeting account. What you can change in Tencent Meeting, the Skill can change; what you cannot, it cannot.
Do recordings and transcripts need enabling separately?
Yes. Recording and transcription are Tencent Meeting features that have to be turned on during the meeting. The Skill can retrieve existing recordings and transcripts; it cannot retroactively record a meeting that was not recorded.
Is this the same as the Tencent Meeting connector?
WorkBuddy supports both a Tencent Meeting connector and this token-installed Skill. Either route works; use whichever entry point your client offers. The connector's authorisation flow is more standardised; the Skill's coverage may be broader.
