What this book is

An unofficial guide to WorkBuddy, compiled from the product's public documentation and hands-on notes, built with VitePress and published in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English.

The official docs win

The product moves fast. Something accurate when this was written may already have changed.

Where this book and the official documentation disagree, trust the official docs. Reports of clearly outdated content are welcome.

Practice cases and Skills

The eleven official practice cases (Practice-One through Practice-Eleven) and the ten free Skills are the basis of this book's Playbooks and Ten free Skills chapters.

Account and billing

Pricing, Credits, Plan management, Usage.

Assistant integrations

Integration guides for WeChat, the WeChat customer-service account, WeCom, QQ, Feishu and DingTalk.

Writing conventions

The book follows a few fixed rules to make it easier to read and verify:

Screen labels appear as English (中文原词). WorkBuddy ships a Chinese interface by default, so the Chinese in brackets is what you will actually see on screen when your interface is in Chinese.

Prompts sit in text code blocks. So they copy whole, without stray formatting characters.

Playbooks share a structure. At a glance → the situation → preparation → the prompt → why it is written that way → acceptance checklist → variations → FAQ.

Product limits are marked warning, risky operations danger. When skimming a page, those two colours are the blocks worth stopping at.

Conclusions are traced to sources. Where the official docs state something clearly, their wording is preferred; where this book offers its own judgement, it says so.

Languages

Simplified Chinese is the single hand-written source.

Traditional Chinese is generated by an OpenCC script (s2twp — Simplified to Traditional with Taiwan vocabulary), with the following kept in Simplified:

KeptWhy
Fenced code blocks and inline codePrompts are pasted into the product verbatim; converting them changes the input
Screen labels wrapped in 「」 or **WorkBuddy's interface is Simplified by default, so converted labels cannot be found on screen
URLs and HTML tagsNot body text

The test is typographic: only terms marked with 「」 or ** and present in the protection list stay Simplified; ordinary prose converts normally. That prevents high-frequency words like 项目 and 工作空间 turning every page into a mixed-script mess.

The English edition is hand-written, not machine-converted. WorkBuddy's screen vocabulary needs the "translation plus the original term" treatment — Skills (技能) — which is real translation work that a script cannot do.

Thanks

To the WorkBuddy team for documenting the product thoroughly — particularly the permissions and sandbox page, which is unusually candid about how the product can hurt you. That is rare in product documentation.
